Bibliotherapy

The use of books as balm goes all the way back to ancient Greek Times. In that culture, books were dubbed “healing places for the soul”.

Being a lover of literature and poetry, I find books to be a poignant adjunct to any psychotherapeutic treatment. I often recommend and select books for my clients based on their cognitive (ie, reading and learning) styles and where they are at in their particular healing journey.

Here are some books that I have personally read that I think are particularly helpful in general by way of validating our difficulties and/or empowering us to take the next step.

My goal is to expand this library as a true therapeutic resource. Please don’t hesitate to email me if you have any books you’d like to tell me about!
